I am not the Surgeon - by Don Davis

I just wanted to share what God has been showing me personally lately.
It has to do with how we handle the Word of God and Love!

I am not the Surgeon

The following verse sounds to me like a surgical instrument.

Heb 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God,

Am I using the sword of the Lord (Word of God) to do surgery?
Do I use sword of the Lord (Word of God) to try to cut out sin in some one?
Do I use the sword of the Lord (Word of God) to chop up sinners?

I remember when I was a little boy I had a plastic sword. I used to chop at everything. I really liked bushes, when I chopped at them pieces would fall off.

1Co 13:1 I may be able to speak the languages of human beings and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell.

Luke 22:50 And one of them struck the High Priest's slave and cut off his right ear.

When I use the Word of God (sword) to attack (without love) I cut off ears. When I cut off ears they cant or want hear

Luke 22:51 But Jesus said, "Enough of this!" He touched the man's ear and healed him.

Praise God for his grace & mercy

Hopefully Jesus healed some of the ears I cut off

Luke 10:27 The man answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind'; and 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.' "

1Co 13:13 Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love.

1Jn 4:16 And we ourselves know and believe the love which God has for us. God is love and those who live in love live in union with God and God lives in union with them.

You could say that we are Gods surgical assistant, We say the Word of God in Love with respect.
And allow God to do the work.

Love attracts

Mat 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then where have the darnel come from?
Mat 13:28 'It was some enemy who did this,' he answered. 'Do you want us to go and pull up the weeds?' they asked him.
Mat 13:29 'No,' he answered, 'because as you gather the weeds you might pull up some of the wheat along with them.

Its not our job to pull up the weeds Its our job to sow & water

So my goal with Gods Love, strength & wisdom to reach out in Love to all

Not belittle other denominations brothers & sisters in Christ
Attack other religions
Attack sin in others (saved or unsaved)

Pro 26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his foolishness, lest you also be like him.

2Ti 2:23 But keep away from foolish and ignorant arguments; you know that they end up in quarrels.
2Ti 2:24 As the Lord's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher,
2Ti 2:25 who is gentle as you correct your opponents, for it may be that God will give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth.
2Ti 2:26 And then they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the Devil, who had caught them and made them obey his will.

Don’t get caught up on the little things that do not really matter

Love attracts

TWO CHOICES ON THE SHELF
SERVE GOD
OR
SERVE YOURSELF
