WELCOME… We are happy that you are here... Here's a little bit about who we are... We are a "band of brothers and sisters" who have come from very different backgrounds and families. But basically we do have some things in common... * We have all at one time or another found our lives out of control. We were all consumed, addicted and ruled by some thing, thought, or behavior. * We have cried for help to God and have found that help in new life and a new relationship with Jesus Christ. * We have a desire to learn to grow in this new life and relationship and to know HIM increasingly more. We want to Walk Worthy! If you have any of the above things in common with us (or even if you don't) we are glad that you are here. May the Lord touch you as you do... We are present on the net for anyone who would want to use us. We would consider it a privilege to walk the journey of life together with you. We are also present in person: We meet every Wednesday Night at 7:00 pm at Soul Cafe 1211 E. Cherry Street Springfield, MO 65802 WE ARE ALSO AVAILABLE ON THE PHONE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS QUESTIONS OR JUST NEEDS TO TALK - DON 417-300-3612 OR SONDRA 417-883-4255

NANETTE'S STORY

Wednesday night at the Soul Cafe a beautiful thing happened. Nanette shared the story of her and God in a very tender, vulnerable way - but also extremely powerful and thought provoking.
One of the things she shared was exactly what we have been learning in our group (imagine that) about the necessity to renew our mind by the Spirit through the Word of God.
She shared that she (and we all) believe lies, which influence our thoughts and result in the things we feel, say and eventually do.
It was put in such a simple way...a way that we can all use as a tool to help us in our renewal.
The chart she handed out went something like this:
Start with three columns:
INFLUENCE (What caused this?)
WRONG BELIEF/THINKING (What is the resulting wrong thought that comes from a wrong belief?)
WRONG "SAY, DO, FEEL" (What is the wrong thing I did, said, or felt?)

You can start in any column and work the situation through. Then you find a truth in the word of God that replaces the lie.

When the situation comes up again...don't believe the lie.
Remember the truth. No matter how you feel - choose to believe the truth. Don't worry, your feelings will eventually catch up.

She gave a few personal examples that really showed how deep the lies effected her (and us).

I want to thank our Lord for using Nanette and for showing us another tool we can use as we step out of the lie - into the truth-and become more like HIM!
